Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Technology (Honours)

I started my career as a Research Assistant at the Faculty of Health Sciences, Puncak Alam Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) with fully funded research titled "Anticariogenic and antibiofilm potential of ultrafiltration recovered Bromelain enzyme from MD2 pineapple core against dental caries associated organisms". I am skillful in antimicrobial effectiveness testing, enzyme extraction and purification, biochemical assay and in vitro biofilm assay. Then, I continued my venture to the clinical world as a Medical Laboratory Scientist at Medivance Healthcare Sdn. Bhd. for about 6 months. I am a part of the Biochemistry and Microbiology departments with hand on skills with ELISA and chemistry analyzers including quality control, calibration, and general maintenance of laboratory equipment. I also have good phlebotomy practice. Here, I practiced my clinical diagnostics skills. Currently, I am a researcher at the Centre of Innovation In Biomedical, SIRIM Industrial Research, SIRIM Berhad. I am currently practicing animal and human primary culture and cell passaging. I am also a part of the medical device in vitro cytotoxicity testing according to ISO 10993. Other cell-based assays that I practice include proliferation, attachment, and migration. Finally, I also practice microbiological lab work including bacterial culture, antimicrobial effectiveness assay, sterility and bioburden testing according to ISO 11137. I am also heavily involved in Ethylene Oxide sterilization work and validation according to ISO 11135.
