My research background in polymer materials was started since 2007 during Master’s Degree in UKM where I involved in development of glass fibre reinforced plastic/rubber composite by using synthesized polyester thermoset derived from recycled PET bottles.
I started working with SIRIM in 2009 and later had secured a Science Fund project from MOSTI in 2013 where I successfully developed a natural polymer based hydrogel film bio-composite that had potential in wound management application.
Besides doing research, I also involve in commercial project with SMEs under SIRIM Fraunhofer Program as the Technology Auditor. This program aims to enhance the productivity and technology of SME's business. On first half of 2022, I had completed led my team in Technology Transfer Program of a chitosan based wound dressing product namely Chitosponge that was invented by SIRIM to Chitoplast Sdn. Bhd. In the program, my team was required to train the industry on the know-how of the product, including physical and chemical of processes and characteristics, followed by providing information for product’s certification (ISO 13485) and registration with Medical Device Authority (MDA).
In addition I am also a certified Lead Auditor of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System. This global standard aims to help the organization to meet the needs of their customers and stakeholders effectively.
At present I involve in ISO 17025 accredited laboratory as the Lab Personnel of Advanced Material Testing Laboratory in SIRIM Kulim, focusing on characterization related to Polymer Materials.
