Dr Rosdi Ibrahim is a Director of Industrial Centre of Innovation in Biomedical, SIRIM Industrial Research, SIRIM Berhad. His career brings over 28 years of experience in research and development. On his academic assessment, he obtained his First Degree in Nuclear Physics from the University of National Malaysia, and then continuing study in Physics Materials at the University of Putra Malaysia for Master Degree. He later returned to the University of Putra Malaysia again for Ph.D. research in Materials Science. In a span of just 28 years, he has secured 25 research grants from the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) and Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) where he led 18 of them. The amount of research grants that he has acquired is over RM 15 million in total. Within the same time frame, Dr Rosdi has published 90 publications in the field of material science and successfully won 22 awards from national and international competitions. Apart from that, he managed to be awarded as the Best Invention and Best Green Invention 2012 in the International Invention, Innovation & Technology Exhibition 2012 and automatically awarded as the Best Institution 2012 for SIRIM Berhad. He also managed to patent 7 new inventions pending and 1 Industrial Design for MyIPO approval.
